Truly Grass Fed Cheese

– Roasted nuts

With both our Natural Aged and Natural Sharp varieties, adding a small bowl of roasted almonds, walnuts, or hazelnuts adds more than texture. The roasted flavors are a match made in heaven for our cheeses.

– Fresh apples and grapes

Again, both cheeses do equally as well with fresh apple slices or beautifully-ripe seedless grapes. They’ll make a pretty addition to any grazing station.

– IPA beer
Naturally, our grass fed natural cheddar needs something to sip alongside it. Craft brews are perfect for craft cheeses. The hops should play toward the sharpness of the cheddar since the bitterness from those hops balances it out for a spectacular flavor sensation.

In particular, our natural aged cheddar sings with IPAs that have a hint of fruitiness. Our sharp natural cheddar is ideal with something malty and stout.

Natural Aged Cheddar Specialties

The above pairings work with both our varieties of Irish cheddar. However, the differences in flavors of each cheese can be highlighted with a few fun tweaks. This Truly Grass Fed style tends to flourish alongside sweeter tastes. This is apparent in beverage choices, like those IPAs, as well as wines.

A young and sweet Riesling matches as does a sparkling wine. To further highlight the distinctive tastes created from the terroir upon which our cows thrive, you can go for sweet jams, chutney, or marmalade. Spiced honey is a wonderful addition to drizzle atop your natural cheddar too.

Natural Sharp Cheddar Specialties

While our aged variety bodes best with sweeter pairing, our sharp is more ideal for savory. Think of a full-bodied cabernet sauvignon or red ale. Dried fruits and nuts have a more austere taste that bring out the best in this natural cheddar. Though it’s not all savory seriousness here. A little honey paired with a stout mustard also makes for a phenomenal creation.

Of course, you should feel free to experiment with our grass fed Irish cheddar cheeses. Isn’t that part of the fun anyway? Make a large tasting board with both cheeses and a medley of these pairings and see what your friends think. Add your own ideas and make a night of finding fun in flavor while choosing sustainably farmed, ‘udderly’ delicious Irish cheddar!
